In boxing he is a former WBO junior welterweight champion, and in kickboxing a former undefeated ISKA World welterweight and WKA World super welterweight champion. A tall, rangy orthodox fighter, Algieri has good boxing fundamentals and usually works on the outside behind a strong jab, but can apply pressure when needed. He is also credited for his bravery and toughness in the ring.
